Job Purpose
We are seeking an experienced, high-calibre Window and Door Fitter to join our skilled installations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing premium uPVC and aluminium windows, composite doors, bi-folds, and conservatory elements to the highest industry standards. You will act as the face of the company on-site, delivering exceptional craftsmanship and brilliant customer service to our domestic residential clients.
Key Responsibilities & Duties

High-Quality Installation: Correctly remove existing fixtures and expertly install a diverse range of products, including uPVC/aluminium casement and flush windows, composite entrance doors, bi-fold doors, and sliding patio systems.

Structural Safety & Compliance: Ensure all installations are completely level, secure, weather-proofed, and fully compliant with current UK Building Regulations and FENSA standards.

Finishing & Trim Work: Execute flawless internal and external perimeter sealing, including master-class uPVC trim work, silicone sealing, and plaster touch-ups where necessary.

Surveys & Verifications: Check site measurements and manufacturing specifications prior to removing old units to guarantee a perfect fit and minimize disruption.

Customer Relations: Maintain a polite, professional, and reassuring demeanour on-site. Clearly explain the operation and maintenance of newly installed products (such as locking mechanisms) to homeowners before leaving.

Site Management & Safety: Keep a clean, tidy, and organized working environment. Ensure proper protection of customers’ flooring and furniture, dispose of old materials responsibly, and strictly adhere to Health & Safety regulations.

Vehicle Maintenance: Ensure the company installation vehicle is organized, clean, regularly checked, and securely loaded with the correct tools and products for the day’s schedule.
Key Competencies & Requirements
Essential:

Proven Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of demonstrable experience fitting domestic uPVC and aluminium windows and doors.

Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of modern glazing systems, frame profiles (such as VEKA or Smart Systems), and multi-point locking mechanisms.

Driving Licence: A full, clean UK driving licence is essential.

Quality Focus: An exceptional eye for detail, particularly regarding neat silicone sealing and tidy external brickwork trims.

Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with a commitment to providing excellent customer service.

Physical Fitness: Capability to comfortably manage the manual handling, lifting, and moving of heavy glass units and frames.
Desirable:

MTC / FENSA Card: A valid Minimum Technical Competence (MTC) card or NVQ Level 2/3 in Fenestration (Installation).

CSCS Card: A valid Construction Skills Certification Scheme card.

Multi-skilled Background: Experience with conservatory roof construction, roofline/fascia installations, or basic carpentry.
